The 4 – Hour Workweek. By Timothy Ferriss

January 23, 2017 by Jim Peacock Leave a Comment

I was intrigued by this book title and it was recommended to me by a few people. Tim Ferriss writes about being the “new rich” or NR in this book and how you can create a lifestyle business that allows you to make money AND live / travel where ever you want.

Well…not sure this is for everyone.

No doubt there are tons of great tips on rethinking how we work like “make small to-do lists with never more than 2 mission critical items per day”. I have taken this advice and it certainly seems to help.

He has helped me really look at my “pain points” too…the things I don’t like to do and have been on my to-do list for a long time…which means I really don’t want to do them. His point is well taken on this; is there a virtual assistant (VA) who could do this? He has caused me to think much longer and harder about giving more things to my VA…which I have begun doing.

One thing I was not fond of is how he encourages you to convince your boss to allow you to work from home one day for some made up reason, then work REALLY hard that day and go back to work in the office and do LESS work, so it looks like you will be more effective working from home. Dishonesty does not sit well with me.

There are tons of resources and good ideas to re-thinking how we might do business and for that, it is a worth while read.
