Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) for Peak-Careers Online Seminars
Do I have to be logged in at a set time?
No, there are no set times to be logged in. Each Saturday morning a new page opens with readings assigned and prompts to start discussions.
How ‘tech savvy’ do I need to be to participate?
If you can surf the internet, watch YouTube videos, navigate Facebook, you probably have enough. Online learning is not for everyone but there are no special computer skills required in the Learning Management System (LMS) we use.
What website do you use for your seminars?
We use Canvas Learning Management (LMS). It is fairly simple and like most websites, we only use a small part of the total site. 90% of the time you’ll spend in Canvas will be in the discussions (similar to a LinkedIn discussion). There is also email within the LMS so all communication stays within the seminar.
***Watch “Sample-Student” log in and navigate a seminar.
How much time each week are typically required?
We work hard to keep the time commitment to about 2-3 hours per week. (That’s about 15-20 minutes /day)
Are your seminars approved for recertification of any certifications?
Yes, we work with the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) and specifically for the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) and the Board Certified Coaches (BCC).
We are also an approved provider by the National Career Development Association (NCDA) for CCSP, CCC, and other credential holders.
Look at each seminars description to see which one is approved and for how many hours.
