After twenty years as a career advisor in higher education serving a wide range of clients including college students, veterans and career changers, Shirley Rowe has now turned her expertise to expand Front Rowe Consulting, a consulting firm offering training, instructional design, career coaching, and writing and speaking services. She brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into her role as a career development practitioner as well as her passion to share this knowledge with others.
Shirley currently provides Career Development Facilitator training to a wide variety of professionals including higher education professionals and corrections professionals (individuals working in prisons and other similar facilities). She earned a Master’s degree in Educational Technology, has been utilizing e-learning technology for over 10 years, and has trained several CDFs through hybrid courses. She has delivered the CDF course both nationally and internationally to clients in Qatar.

Certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator and Instructor of the CDF course through the National Career Development Association (NCDA)
Certified as an NCDA Master Career Specialist
Deliver Career Development Facilitator training to individuals and groups in the US and internationally. The training is delivered in a hybrid format through a robust online system and through instructor contact both face-to-face and virtually. The delivery method is in compliance with NCDA requirements.
Selected through a competitive process to serve on the NCDA Career Development Facilitator Advisory Council which is charged with enhancing the development and delivery of the NCDA Career Development Facilitator project to the field. We have added resource guides, supplemental materials, the eLearning version, curriculum updates, and numerous professional development institutes, workshops, trainings, and other beneficial services to the Career Development Facilitator community.
Selected to edit and revise multiple chapters of the CDF curriculum and convert to stand-alone units which can be marketed and sold individually under the title of the Career Management Series.
Selected to deliver Career Development Facilitator training to individuals working with ex-offenders through the National Institute of Corrections (a Division of the Department of Justice). This training is a part of another certification called Offender Workforce Development Specialist, which is an expanded CDF program for individuals working in correctional facilities or other supportive organizations (parole, work release, transitional services for the offender population).
After recognizing the need for more information and the need to be as current as possible in providing any CDF training, is currently developing some additional modules for my own CDF course, and developing several courses to be offered as CEU’s for GCDFs.
Developed and presented several webinars and online courses on a variety of topics for both NCDA and other national organizations and companies.
Taught multiple iterations of a 3-credit hour, semester-long undergraduate Career Development course at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Presented at NCDA Global and Career Practitioner Conferences including the inaugural Tech Café and as part of a team presenting a Professional Development Institute workshop.
Invited speaker at other local and national conferences including Alliance of Career Resource Professionals (ACRP), Texas Career Development Association (TxCDA), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SOACE), Center for Education and Work (CEW), Communities in Schools (Americorps volunteers), Innovations in Online Learning, EPIC Professional Development Seminar, and UTSA Student Affairs Professional Development Conference.
Currently in discussion with a client to develop CEU modules to support continuing education for CDFs in the Middle East marketplace.
A founding member and serving on the Board of Directors of CORE 4 Women, a non-profit organization committed to assisting women seeking education via distance learning.
